No One Knows What We Are Doing in Libya
Ron Smith, Baltimore Sun
I was watching Charlie Rose the other night. He was talking via satellite with veteran war reporter John Burns of The New York Times, who was standing atop a five-star hotel in Tripoli. They were talking about NATO's stepped-up bombing campaign designed to kill Moammar Ghadafi, the Mad Hatter longtime ruler of Libya. War planes are bombing the heck out of targets in the Libyan capital in the hope that they can either kill the crazed colonel or somehow force a regime change.Source: http://www.realclearpolitics.com/2011/06/10/no_one_knows_what_we_are_doing_in_libya_257085.html

First Firefox 6 build next week, Firefox 7 by May, and aurora channel introduced
Mozilla's Engineering Project Manager, Christian Legnitto, has detailed the release schedule for Firefox 5, 6 and 7. If all goes to plan, Firefox 6.0a1 will be released next week, April 12, and Firefox 7.0a1 in the middle of May. The final build of Firefox 5 should be released on June 21, exactly three months after the release of Firefox 4.
Along with the faster 6-week release cadence, Firefox's new Chrome-like release channels have also been given names and anticipated update frequencies. The most notable change is the introduction of a new alpha channel -- which is analogous to Chrome Canary -- that will be called 'aurora' and will update nightly. Aurora will be where fixes and features are tested, and either approved for Beta, or backed out to Central. Aurora will have a new icon, too.
The Nightly (mozilla-central) channel will remain unchanged in name and frequency, but it will gain a new 'nightly icon.' The Beta (mozilla-beta) channel will remain as-is, with new builds rolling out weekly. The Release (mozilla-release) channel will also remain as-is, with security and stability updates coming every 6 to 12 weeks.
It should be noted that the names (including 'aurora') are not necessarily final, but it's unlikely that they'll change. We're also awaiting the arrival of the new 'channel switching' technology, which should arrive in the next few days -- in time for the release of Firefox 6 aurora!First Firefox 6 build next week, Firefox 7 by May, and aurora channel introduced originally appeared on Download Squad on Thu, 07 Apr 2011 05:20:00 EST. Autism linked to hundreds of genetic mutations
Three new studies conclude that autism disorders are genetically very complex, not caused by one or two gene defects. The potential changes in DNA may produce what are essentially different forms of autism. Autism is a confounding neurological disorder that affects an estimated one in 110 U.S. children. Three new studies published Wednesday may give researchers new avenues to eventually help autistic children such as Mireya Salazar, shown with her father Nelson. How You Use QR Codes - Readers? Responses
Back in April, I wrote an article about QR Codes and the post exploded with comments. I have some pretty intelligent readers out there! I wanted to gather all the information from these informative comments and present them here in a concise format so we can all find the information quickly and easily.
Ways You Use QR Codes
In my article, I asked if readers were already using QR Codes in their businesses. Some responses were quite interesting:
Andy Lynn of PRONTO! Mobile puts QR Codes on cookies -- actual, edible cookies! Putting QR Codes on cookies is a creative example of how flexible QR Codes can be. Tag Street provided a picture of QR Codes being used with real estate agents in the UK. Agents are incorporating QR Codes into their sign boards. Instead of having to memorize a route, a potential client can simply scan the QR Code and have all the information they need on their phone.Angela Henry is an author who incorporates QR Codes on her blog and promotional posters. The QR Code links to a site about her book.merlonbrand puts QR Codes on t-shirts.uQR.me gave a couple of cool examples, such as enhancing missing children posters, virtual church bulletins, art projects, and personal branding.Dfreeman uses QR Codes in his newsletter to lead his subscribers to great deals.JetCityOrange—what happened in Seattle? From what I can tell from the video on QRdvark, reader JetCityOrange did a campaign using QR Codes around the 206 area code in a scavenger hunt like fashion. Very cool!Wayne Spivak uses QR Codes in his company’s corporate logo and has received the response of either, “Cool! A QR Tag!” or “What’s that?” Both statements have led to more sales.QR Scanners for Your Mobile Device
Many readers gave suggestions of usable QR Code scanners for your mobile device. Personally, I use Google Goggles on my Android phone. But here are some other apps approved by my readers:
Barcode ScannerRedLaserQRdvarkThe main complaint from my readers was the fact that mobile devices don’t automatically come with a QR scanner. You seem to agree that QR Code popularity would spike if this happened.
QR Code Generators
Along with QR Code scanners, many readers made mention of their favorite QR Code generators. Some are free and some aren’t. Some provide analytics in connection with your QR Reader. Some are industry specific. Check out these reader suggested QR Code generators:
